Mangosteen
Garcinia mangostana (Mangosteen) belongs to the Clusiaceae family, a tropical evergreen fruit tree probably native to Southeast Asia. The genus Garcinia consists of many species and the plants belonging to the genus contain numerous phytochemical including phenolics, xanthones, mangostenol and others. In traditional medicines, Garcinia mangostana has anti-inflammatory properties and has been used for treating and healing skin infection and wounds as well as skin conditions such as eczema.
